Happy New Year everyone! 2018 was very interesting for me as a bus operator, and I’m sure 2019 will bring even more exciting changes. And right off the bat are the January 7 service changes, which include a new PRIMO route.
This past Wednesday (my only day off) I spent the day riding buses in Austin. Being a driver for VIA is awesome and everything, but it’s nice every once in a while to take a break and see a change in scenery. But that got me to thinking: when was the first time I visited Austin?Continue reading “Happy Anniversary!!!”
For the first time in a very long time I actually had a day to myself. What I mean by that is I was too sick to go to work and had to take a sick day. That meant I finally had time to sort and edit through my photos on the computer. It literally took me all day to go through about 800 photos, edit and sort them. Of course that means seeing photos taken recently (such as a few days ago) and from over a year ago. Seeing photos from last year really struck at the heart strings and the memories from them. This includes the New Flyer’s from 2003 (fleet number 200-260).Continue reading “Gone Too Soon….”
I know, I know…. it’s been too long since my last blog update. I know I said the workload was slowing down, however things came up which made me busy. I won’t get into detail on that, but I will on what’s happening at VIA.
There’s been some interesting things going on at VIA that I feel like should be shared.
I’m back finally with another blog post. Work has been stressful this past month that I decided to take a much-needed break and leave town for a bit. That’s why I planned a trip up to the Dallas/Fort Worth area from Sunday 8/12 to Tuesday 8/14. And while I wasn’t able to do much fanning as possible due to weather, I still managed to gather some information.
Wow, it’s been a while since I wrote anything. Long story short it’s been really busy at work. The hours are long but it’s still a fun adventure. Anyways at the beginning of June I saw something very odd in the bus yard: and brand new Nova Bus LFS CNG #693, freshly delivered. When I saw that bus my heart sank, as that meant the contract with Nova was NOT cancelled. After asking around the office I found out that it’s confirmed that the contract was never cancelled, and it was just a rumor spread by some drivers. That means once all of the diesel buses are finally retired it will be nothing but Nova’s (not including the specialty buses like PRIMO and VIVA).
